From August 13 of the current year, the summer-autumn hunting season opens for waterfowl (excluding geese) and marshland game, woodcock, wood pigeon, stock dove, quail, and pheasant.

From August 13 of the current year, the summer-autumn hunting season opens for waterfowl (excluding geese) and marshland game, woodcock, wood pigeon, stock dove, quail, and pheasant.

This type of hunting is permitted during daylight hours by firearm (from a hide, stalking, or approaching by means of small vessels without engines or with engines switched off) and non-firearm (using birds of prey) methods. During firearm hunting, the use of smooth-bore hunting firearms and shot-loaded cartridges, as well as hunting dogs (excluding hounds and sighthounds), is allowed.

From September 3, the list of permitted game birds to be hunted will be supplemented by hazel grouse and grey partridge, and from September 17 – by white-fronted goose, bean goose, greylag goose, and Canada goose.

The summer-autumn hunting season for game birds will last until December 11, 2022.

We remind you that during hunting, only game bird species (according to Appendices 1 and 3 to the Hunting Rules) specified in the hunting permit may be taken.

Furthermore, when lawfully present in hunting grounds for hunting purposes, hunters are also permitted to hunt wolves, jackals, foxes, raccoon dogs, grey crows, and magpies using the methods and hunting gear permitted for hunting the game animals specified in the hunting permit.

The taking of a wild animal during hunting that is not classified as game or not specified in the hunting permit (with the exception of the aforementioned game animals) constitutes illegal hunting and entails administrative (Part 1 of Article 16.27 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offences) or criminal (Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus) liability, as well as the obligation for the violator of environmental legislation to compensate for the damage caused to the environment as a result of the illegal taking of such animal.

We draw hunters' special attention to the need for strict adherence to the safety requirements for hunting, as set out in Chapter 6 of the Hunting Rules, during the hunting process. Practice shows that non-compliance with these requirements is the main cause of hunting accidents, including those resulting in fatalities. Furthermore, violation of the rules

violation of hunting safety regulations entails administrative liability (parts 5 and 6 of Article 16.27 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offences) in the form of a fine of up to 15 base units, and in case of repeated violation within a year – from 10 to 30 base units or deprivation of the right to hunt.
