The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Habitat reminds that, in accordance with the Rules for Game Management and Hunting, hunting for mountain hare and brown hare opens from the first Saturday of October (06.10.2018) to the first Saturday of November (03.11.2018). Rifled hunting is permitted with hounds in daylight, using smooth-bore hunting weapons with cartridges loaded with shot; hunting dogs: hounds with field diplomas for hare and/or fox.
Hunting with hounds can be considered one of the most successful types of hare hunting. The peculiarity of hunting mountain hare is its inaccessibility and the interesting movements in the forest, while pursuing brown hare is attractive due to the open fields and provides an opportunity to observe its habits. The art of the "cross-eyed" one to confuse tracks requires persistence and patience from the hunter and his four-legged assistant. However, the excitement of the hunt should not affect compliance with the rules.
Attention Hunters! When going hunting, carefully study the boundaries of hunting management zones and other units of internal division of the territory of hunting grounds, in which hunting is permitted or prohibited in accordance with the available hunting permit.
