The international literary festival is being held for the second time with the aim of identifying the creativity of talented writers, including young ones, writing in Russian and Belarusian. Authors of literary works aged 18 and over are invited to participate, regardless of their membership in creative unions and associations, place of residence, or citizenship. The following nominations are offered for their consideration: "Poetry", "Short Story", "In the Language of Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas" (poems in Belarusian), "Literary Translation", "Free Verse", and "Polotsk – Cradle of Belarusian Statehood" (poems in Russian and Belarusian).
The first remote stage will be held online until May 31. Then, the jury will begin its work to select worthy works. Their authors will be personally invited to the final, second stage of the competition. The names of the winners will be announced then – at the beginning of September, during the celebration of City Day in Polotsk.
In 2017, the competition attracted significant attention from the creative intelligentsia: 165 authors from 12 countries sent in their works, noted Anna Potseluykina-Vrublevskaya. 113 authors representing Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, and Moldova reached the final.
