Another health resort is opening

In early July, another health resort will open in the town. We visited it on the eve of the opening, with the final preparations for the arrival of tourists underway. The "Lepel" health resort will start operating on the basis of the former children's sanatorium…

Wait, but we have already visited this facility during its restoration. And then, as far as I remember, the plans were completely different: in the premises of the former orthopedic center for children, it was planned to open a private nursing home for the elderly after repairs. The project had both a commercial and a charitable aspect. At least, that's what the then management of the facility claimed. What has changed? We are trying to find out the details from the head of the health resort, Larisa Yemelyanovich.
Everything has changed very recently. I can't say exactly what caused it. A number of legal circumstances. Our management is in Minsk and they make the decisions. Be that as it may, we are opening as a health resort, a branch of the "LODE" boarding house.

Larisa Vasilievna, along with her colleagues, was tidying up the courtyard and busy with the flowerbeds. Fortunately, she is a designer by profession, and this is not her first time dealing with landscaping; she used to work in housing and communal services. The premises of the former sanatorium were transferred to the new owner in the autumn of two thousand and fourteenth year, and in the spring of the following year, repair and restoration work began. During this time, the administrative building and the food block were repaired, unsuitable heating pipes were replaced, and the boiler room was launched. True, all this time, while there were no visitors, the boiler room operated in a power-saving mode. The minimum temperature was maintained just to prevent the heating system from freezing.

The canteen is designed for thirty people. However, initially, it will be able to accommodate about half of that. And at first, food will be delivered in special thermoses from "LODE". Equipment has been installed in the serving area, and tables and dishes have been purchased.

Two comfortable shower cubicles have been equipped in the main building. In addition, lovers of a light steam will be able to visit the banya in the future. The banya is a tastefully made log building on the territory. Hot water is currently being supplied to it, for which a trench has been dug. It is also planned to build an extension, either a small annex or a terrace, made of brick. The cable has been laid, and interactive television ZALA has been connected.

Since it was originally planned as a shelter for the elderly, much was done with this in mind: a cozy lounge for joint TV viewing, a room with a fireplace, a TV in the dining room, a gym, and at least a small home church. It is thought that all this will be useful for the new health resort and will be in demand.

The territory of the center is about two hectares. A rather large area. And all this had to be thought out in detail, equipped, to be cozy and beautiful. Features of the old design were used, as the facility is located in a picturesque pine forest, and elements of the new were added. Previously, there was a literal invasion of crows here. They built nests, creating unsanitary conditions. With the help of specialists, the birds had to be evicted. Thujas have been nicely integrated into the pine forest landscape.

Larisa Vasilievna says that thuja is very beneficial for health improvement. It is not for nothing that seriously ill, sometimes hopeless patients were previously placed in thuja huts, and they recovered. In addition, thujas are less troublesome because they have neither foliage nor cones. And on the flowerbeds, in the courtyard, as well as in decorative pots, a riot of colours has bloomed. A separate design feature is a pier with catamarans and cozy gazebos. A beautiful picturesque lake is located very close by.

Interestingly, four dogs and six cats live on the territory of the health resort. Over the years of restoration, the animals have already settled in here, and the staff has also got used to them. The cats have their own fairy-tale "cat house", where they are fed and where they sleep. Each dog has its own individual kennel. They also fit well into the original courtyard design. The main feature of the health resort is coziness. Everything here is somehow compact, homely. Perhaps because the center is small. And the staff is small for now, and the number of guests planned is limited for now. The first group will consist of only five people, mostly from Minsk, who have already purchased vouchers. By the way, a voucher for a month in a double room costs eight hundred rubles, including meals.

Further on, the staff will be increased. It is expected that about thirty people will work here – security operators, housekeepers, a building maintenance and repair worker, an administrator, two cooks, a paramedic, and an animator.

It feels like home here, as the people who created and service this center strive to give the recreation a homely atmosphere. What kind of recreation can one have within official walls!
