On the weekend of December 17-20, 2021, the traffic police will conduct a large-scale operation on local roads and rural settlements.
Entertainment, leisure, and retail facilities located in rural areas will be under special control during this period.
On the roads, traffic police inspectors will suppress the most serious violations of the Traffic Regulations.
The traffic police will pay special attention to drunk pedestrians, drivers without licenses, and drivers who get behind the wheel while intoxicated.
Reckless driving will not go unnoticed. The traffic police will monitor those who disregard the rules of overtaking, maneuvering, and driving through pedestrian crossings.
The State Automobile Inspectorate once again urges vehicle owners to be attentive on the roads, especially during twilight and night time.
Main recommendations for drivers:
- drivers should not forget to reduce speed when approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing;
- if the movement of a vehicle has slowed down or stopped before a pedestrian crossing, drivers of other vehicles moving in adjacent lanes in the same direction must reduce speed, allowing pedestrians to pass;
- at a regulated pedestrian crossing, when the traffic light signal allowing passage is on, it is necessary to yield to pedestrians.
