The combined detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus is fighting fires in one of the most challenging Russian regions in terms of fire situation, BELTA correspondent reports. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, in the Ryazan region, where Belarusian rescuers are located, there are currently 14 natural fire outbreaks, 7 of which have not yet been localised. The total area affected by fire is 3.8 thousand hectares. The fire in the region has destroyed 269 houses, 8 people have died, and 737 have been left homeless. The Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations detachment includes 25 units of special equipment and 150 personnel. As of August 9, Belarusian rescuers have extinguished 28 forest and 4 peat fires over a total area of 25 hectares. In addition to the Ryazan region, a difficult fire situation persists in the Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod regions. However, the situation in the central part of the country has improved somewhat compared to a few days ago. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, fires in the Tula, Tambov, Belgorod, Lipetsk, Ivanovo and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as in Tatarstan, have been almost completely extinguished.
