15 July, Minsk /BELTA/. Answers to citizens' appeals should not be formal brush-offs. This was stated by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Anatoly Rubinov, after a personal reception of citizens at the Shchuchin District Executive Committee, the BELTA correspondent was informed by the Information Department of the Secretariat of the Council of the Republic. "Unfortunately, sometimes people receive purely formal answers to their inquiries. A person asks a specific question, and they are sometimes sent a brush-off, even from the highest authority. This should not be the case," said the speaker of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament, summing up the outreach reception. The Chairman of the Council of the Republic also noted that meetings in the regions allow for studying what the people are living by and what concerns them. He added that the problems brought to the reception by the residents of Shchuchin were already in the process of being resolved. "But, apparently, people want to have an additional guarantee," believes Anatoly Rubinov. During the reception of citizens, issues of water supply, assistance in employment, improvement of housing conditions, use of the personal privatization voucher "Imushchestvo" and other topics were discussed. Anatoly Rubinov provided all visitors with the necessary clarifications and recommendations. He instructed the leadership of the Shchuchin District Executive Committee to resolve the problems raised at the reception, and took the implementation of these instructions under his personal control. The Chairman of the Council of the Republic also visited OJSC "Shchuchin Plant "Avtoprovod", where he familiarized himself with the production and talked with the enterprise's employees.-0-
