13 July, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A commemorative sign in honour of the veterans of the prosecutor's office, who stood guard over the Law and dedicated themselves to serving the Fatherland in wartime and peacetime, was unveiled today in Vitebsk, reports a BELTA correspondent.
The solemn unveiling ceremony of the commemorative sign, located near the building of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, was attended by the Prosecutor General of Belarus, Alexander Konyuk, the Prosecutor of the Pskov Region, Timur Kebekov, employees of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, veterans of the prosecutor's office, and representatives of authorities.
"This is a significant event: for the first time in our country, such tribute has been paid to the arduous work of employees of the prosecutor's office. I am confident that the initiative of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office will be supported in other regions of the country as well," said Alexander Konyuk.
The unveiling of the commemorative sign marked the beginning of a good tradition for young employees of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office to take their oath precisely at this location: the first to recite the oath were Natalia Ovodneva, Assistant Prosecutor of the Ushachi District, and Andrey Starchenko, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Chashniki District.-0-
