14 January, Vitebsk /BELTA correspondent/. An information and innovation technology park may be established in Vitebsk with the support of Chinese investors. Preliminary agreements on this matter were reached during the visit of the Vitebsk delegation to Harbin (People's Republic of China) during the signing of a partnership agreement, the Vitebsk City Executive Committee's Economy Committee informed the BELTA correspondent. The business part of the Vitebsk delegation's visit programme was dedicated to meetings with business representatives in the Harbin Economic Development Zone and enterprises – members of the Chinese Association of Trade and Industrial Enterprises. The Vitebsk City Executive Committee and the Harbin Development Zone signed a cooperation agreement, which defines the framework conditions for partnership, including information exchange, joint business meetings and business trips, and exhibitions of science-intensive products. In addition, Chinese partners accepted the proposal of the Vitebsk administration to participate in the creation of the information and innovation technology park. The Vitebsk City Executive Committee supports mutually beneficial joint activities for the further development of economic cooperation by establishing contacts between enterprises and firms of partner cities: Smolensk, Pskov, Samara, Gelendzhik, Stupino (Moscow Region), Frankfurt (Oder) and Nienburg (Germany), Daugavpils and Rezekne (Latvia), Balti (Moldova), Rishon LeZion (Israel), Harbin (China). -0-
