Parliamentarians are discussing the possibility of introducing the institution of ombudsmen for children's rights in Belarus, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko told journalists, answering a question from a BELTA correspondent. "The introduction of the institution of ombudsmen for children's rights was initiated by some deputies and members of the Council of the Republic. This initiative is being considered. I think that during the next year we will be looking for approaches to its solution," said the speaker of the lower house. Currently, draft laws are being worked out on restricting the presence of minors without parental accompaniment at night, as well as on introducing a veto on the sale of alcohol to persons under 21 years of age. These draft laws are still in the parliamentary commissions. Assessing the outgoing year, Vladimir Andreichenko noted that the year was not easy, but the country overcame the difficulties with dignity. "Today, stabilization is felt in the currency and consumer markets. The forecast indicators for next year will allow for a deficit-free budget, which means that more attention will be paid to solving social issues, increasing wages and pensions, and construction problems will be addressed.
