On September 23, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. Parliamentary elections have been held in all 110 electoral districts of Belarus. This was announced today to journalists by the Secretary of the Central Election Commission, Nikolai Lozovik, BelTA correspondent reports.
"Voters are actively participating in the electoral process. It can be said that the elections across the Republic of Belarus have taken place," said Nikolai Lozovik.
According to data as of 18:00, 65.9% of voters participated in the parliamentary elections. In the Brest region, 64.2% of voters have already cast their ballots, in Vitebsk region - 73.1%, Gomel region - 68.9%, Grodno region - 67.1%, Minsk region - 67.2%, Mogilev region - 72.5%, in Minsk - 53.6%, abroad - 61.6%.
Assessing the course of the election campaign, Nikolai Lozovik noted that it is proceeding calmly. "Of course, if we compare our elections with the elections in Ukraine, then perhaps there are many more mass events, demonstrations, pickets, tent cities. There, it can already be said that the elections have turned into a kind of national entertainment, which is held almost every year," said the Secretary of the CEC. In his opinion, the course of the election campaign is to some extent linked to the economic situation in the country. "The fact that our country is holding elections calmly, without any swerving to the right or left, indicates that the economy is also working stably and calmly," believes the Secretary of the Central Election Commission.-0-
