On March 20, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A consignment of citrus fruits worth Br371 million has been seized in Vitebsk, the Vitebsk customs office informed a BELTA correspondent. A MAN truck driven by a citizen of Belarus was stopped during a special customs operation on the 609th km of the M-1 highway by officers of the operational-search department of the Vitebsk customs. It was found that the recipient of 18 tons of fruit indicated in the accompanying documents was not expecting this cargo. Furthermore, the goods lacked a phytosanitary certificate. Currently, the oranges, grapefruits, and mandarins have been confiscated. An administrative process has been initiated against the carrier under Part 4 of Article 12.17 of the Code of Administrative Offences (transportation of goods in violation of the procedure established by law). -0-
