Easter broadcasts and programmes are scheduled on the air of Belteleradiocompany

On the occasion of the Feast of the Resurrection of Christ, which Orthodox believers will celebrate on April 28 this year, exclusive live broadcasts and thematic programmes are scheduled on the airwaves of Belteleradiocompany's TV channels, as well as the First National Channel of Belarusian Radio. This was reported to BELTA by the media holding's press service.

"On the eve of Easter, April 27, at 6:25 AM, a special issue of the spiritual and educational project "Існасць" will be aired on the "Belarus 1" TV channel. At 11:45 PM, the country's main TV channel will begin a live broadcast of the festive divine service for the Holy Resurrection of Christ from the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk. Viewers of the international satellite TV channel "Belarus 24" will also watch the festive divine service live. On April 28, at 6:30 AM, "The Word of Metropolitan Pavel on the Holy Resurrection of Christ" will be broadcast on "Belarus 1"," the press service stated.

On April 28, at 7:35 AM, the socio-cultural TV channel "Belarus 3" will commence its festive Easter broadcast with a thematic issue of the project "Kamerton". This time, the programme will be dedicated to Metropolitan Filaret, Honorary Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus. At 10:25 AM, the topic of the Easter meal will be explored in "Belarusian Cuisine," which will offer viewers a recipe for the original "Roulade with Ears". The project "Architecture of Belarus" at 4:20 PM has prepared a thematic issue about the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Muravanka, Grodno Region. This monument of Gothic-Renaissance architecture, in the late 17th - early 18th centuries, was transferred to the Uniate Church, was converted into a Roman Catholic church at the beginning of the last century, but in 1993, it regained its original purpose, becoming the centre of an Orthodox parish uniting 8 villages.

On April 27, during the daytime broadcast, the "NTV-Belarus" TV channel will traditionally broadcast live from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. On Great Saturday, preceding the Easter holiday, 10,000 pilgrims will gather to witness the miracle of the descent of the Holy Fire and perform the Pan-Orthodox prayer for peace in the Holy Land.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is the sacred centre of Christianity, uniting about a third of the Earth's population today. It was built in the 4th century AD on the site where Jesus Christ's earthly journey concluded. The most sacred place within the entire church complex is the chapel over the Holy Sepulchre (the Edicule). It houses the stone slab (the Aedicule) where Christ's body rested after His crucifixion on Good Friday until His Resurrection. It is on this stone slab that the Holy Fire appears. Broadcast begins at 13:15.

On April 27th at 7:30, the First National Channel of Belarusian Radio will broadcast a special edition of the project "The Light of the Soul," dedicated to the bright holiday of Easter. On Sunday at the same time, the channel's audience will hear an Easter sermon and an address from the Metropolitan in the program "Spiritual Word." Later, throughout the day, news bulletins will feature reports on the festive services held in churches across Belarus, and popular public projects will discuss spiritual education and eternal Christian values.
