New Year's gifts from the President have been presented to patients at the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Centre, reports BELTA correspondent.
The pleasant mission on behalf of the Head of State was carried out by Vladimir Penin, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Yuri Derkach, Head of the Healthcare Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and Galina Puzanova, Chief Physician of the medical institution.
"The most important thing in children's recovery is attention to them. Today's event is one of the many testimonies to the President's care for our country and children. And I was very pleased to perform this honourable mission. And there is no doubt that the children were pleased, you saw their joy with your own eyes," Vladimir Penin shared with journalists after visiting the young patients.
The Head of the Regional Executive Committee's Healthcare Department also has no doubt about the beneficial effect of such "medicine". "This is an additional medicine that has pleased and stimulated the children towards health, as many of the children are celebrating the New Year holidays here, in the hospital. Care is always paramount for everyone, and it is very important when it comes from the Head of State," emphasised Yuri Derkach.
Anna Dovgyallo, mother of a five-year-old patient, addressed sincere words of gratitude to the President for such an unexpected but very pleasant gift. She expressed special appreciation to the entire staff of the medical institution for their participation and attention. "Very good conditions for treating children have been created here, and the staff's attitude towards patients is very heartfelt," she said.
Congratulations to children with gifts from the President also took place today at the Vitebsk Regional Specialized Children's Home, and in the coming days will be held in special kindergartens and other educational institutions of the Vitebsk region.
The "Our Children" charity event is ongoing in Belarus. Heads of republican government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies visit children's boarding institutions, foster and adoptive families, children's hospitals, provide assistance in solving existing problems, and present gifts. The main goal of the charity marathon is to let all children, especially those who need special societal attention, feel the joy of the New Year and Christmas holidays. The event is held under the patronage of the President of Belarus. It started on December 11 and will run until January 10.
