Educators of the Vitebsk region have started publishing their own scientific and practical journal

29 August, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - Vitebsk/. The Masherov Vitebsk State University, in conjunction with the education department of the regional executive committee, has launched the publication of the scientific and practical journal "Modern Education of the Vitebsk Region". This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Elena Bobrova, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the publication and Deputy Director of the Institute for Professional Development and Retraining of the Masherov VSU.

"The initiative to publish a journal for educators in the region belongs to the Rector of this university, Alexander Solodkov (who is the Editor-in-Chief of the new publication), and the Head of the Education Department of the Regional Executive Committee, Ivan Shchurko.

"Modern Education of the Vitebsk Region" is a journal for educators and about educators in our region. The publication is intended to become an information and methodological platform for teachers, lecturers, and methodologists. New ideas, concepts, and views on the education system from scholars and practitioners will be discussed here," said Elena Bobrova.

The journal includes sections such as "Regional Policy and Management in Education", "Science for Practice", "Innovative Project", "Modern Educational Environment", "Milestones of History", "Our Jubilarians", and "Guest of the Journal".

"As for the authoring team, it is very broadly represented. The publication will feature materials prepared by university lecturers and practicing teachers from different regions of the oblast. Over time, we plan to involve foreign colleagues in the circle of authors. The university has close contacts with educational institutions in various countries. The experience and methodological developments of our partners may prove useful for our educators," emphasized Elena Bobrova, adding that subscriptions to the new publication will be available from the beginning of 2014.

"Modern Education of the Vitebsk Region" is published in Russian and Belarusian, and is printed at the Masherov University. The first two issues of the journal were released in May and August of the current year, each with a print run of 1,000 copies. The publication frequency is once a quarter. -0-
