To reveal the "Secret of Safety," the audience had to decipher silhouettes of various objects appearing on the screen by guessing them. The organized event proved interesting to everyone, as the campaign participants engaged in dialogue and actively participated in all the proposed contests. The game provided participants with an opportunity to recall the main causes of fires and receive advice from rescuers on how to avoid disaster.
The first topic for discussion was careless handling of fire, particularly while smoking. Ministry of Emergency Situations employees cited examples of tragedies caused by this reason in the Lepel district and reminded attendees that tragedy most often befalls those who adhere to the "drank-smoked-fell asleep" principle.
The next topic of discussion concerned electrical safety. Here, rescuers focused on issues such as overloading the electrical grid, using non-factory-made electrical appliances, and using electrical appliances that have exceeded their service life.
The seasonal topic of stove heating was also touched upon and studied in detail. Campaign participants had the opportunity to identify violations on a model of a "dangerous stove" and familiarize themselves with the internal components of a heating appliance.
Food left on the stove is another common cause of fires. Therefore, by acting out a common household situation that could happen to any homemaker in the kitchen, rescuers visually demonstrated what everyday kitchen items could be used to extinguish burning oil in a frying pan.
To detect emergencies in a timely manner, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) recommended that all attendees install an autonomous fire alarm in each living room.
At the end of the event, through open dialogue, pensioners from the Lepel region concluded that the main secret of safety lies in the elementary observance of fire safety rules and consolidated all the acquired knowledge by watching the MES training videos "Autonomous Fire Alarm" and "Safety - Into Every Home".
