The open championship of Lepel district in mini-football lasted for more than two months. "Open" meant that any team, not necessarily from Lepel district, could participate in the competition. However, travelling from other districts for games almost every weekend for two months was quite expensive, so only teams from Lepel participated in the championship.

Meanwhile, even without guests, the championship turned out to be quite representative, with more than ten teams participating. Preliminary games were held according to a round-robin system, where each team had to play matches against every opponent.

Four teams reached the final, having earned the maximum number of points in the preliminary games. Points were awarded for won or lost matches, and the difference between goals scored and conceded was taken into account.

The third and fourth places were contested by the team of the agricultural technical college and "Sviaty Kazimir". Despite the fact that the educational institution has many athletically gifted young people, the core of the football team consists of older amateurs. This probably played a negative role. "Sviaty Kazimir" was better prepared for the important game for a place on the podium, and they won. By the way, in recent years, this team has been making itself known more and more loudly, posing serious competition to the long-time favourites – the teams of the ROVD and "Komunalnik" from the village of Borovka. The latter contested the championship title between themselves.

The ROVD team became the district mini-football champion last year, and "Komunalnik" sought revenge, so the game took on a sharp, principled character from the very first minutes. Based on the goal difference in the preliminary games, "Komunalnik" had a slight advantage; for the athletes from Borovka, a draw in the final would have been enough to win the championship title. The ROVD team needed only a victory, so the footballers immediately rushed into attack and scored the first goal in the opponent's net literally in the second minute, thus opening the scoring in the match. They didn't stop there; attacks followed one after another.

"Komunalnik" countered the fierce attacks with a planned defence, which thwarted all the opponents' attempts, as well as sharp counter-attacks that ended with accurate shots at the goal. The first half ended quite unexpectedly – with a score of 3:1 in favour of "Komunalnik".
