Mobile post offices will operate in all districts of the Vitebsk region

15 January, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. Mobile post offices will travel to sparsely populated villages in all districts of the Vitebsk region this year. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Ekaterina Zinkevich, Deputy Director of the Vitebsk branch of the republican unitary enterprise "Belpochta".

Currently, there are 51 mobile post offices operating in the region. "In 2014, we plan to open 20 new mobile post offices, including in the Rossony district, where there have been none so far. The largest number of mobile post offices are currently operating in the Postavy district - 7, Glubokoye - 5, Orsha, Polotsk, Vitebsk and Dokshytsy districts - 4 each," said Ekaterina Zinkevich.

According to her, the first mobile post offices appeared in the region more than 10 years ago. They replaced unprofitable stationary ones. "Until recently, mobile post offices were equipped on the basis of UAZ or Gazelle vehicles. Now these are special vehicles based on UAZ chassis and Kupava vans. At the end of last year, 15 such vehicles were delivered to the region," she noted.

Mobile post offices provide a full range of services. "Mobile post offices are equipped with a special computer system for reading information from plastic payment cards, and customers have the opportunity to pay for mobile communication services, make bank loan payments, and more online," assured Ekaterina Zinkevich.

The schedule of arrivals, operating hours, and parking locations of mobile post offices are determined based on the wishes and needs of the population.-0-
