On November 19, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The remains of 35 civilians shot during the Great Patriotic War will be reburied today in Chashniki District, Tatiana Pchelka, Head of the Ideological Work Department of the Chashniki District Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent. For many years, residents of the district have appealed to the authorities with a request to verify information that there is a mass execution site of civilians near the village of Koptevichi. According to eyewitnesses, during the occupation, the fascists exterminated people of different nationalities there: Belarusians, Poles, Jews, and Roma. Responding to the residents' wishes, the district executive committee sought assistance from the 52nd Separate Search Battalion, which is directly involved in the search for fallen soldiers and civilians. During the battalion's work at the site indicated by local residents, the remains of 35 people were discovered. Unfortunately, it is not possible to establish their names. A mourning reburial ceremony will be held in the village of Koptevichi. The remains will be laid to rest in a mass grave. -0-
