The personal composition of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the fifth convocation will consist of more than 80% new deputies who have not previously worked in parliament. Of the 109 people elected to the House of Representatives, 21 (or 19.3%) worked in the previous, fourth, convocation, and 88 people have been elected to parliament for the first time. Information about those who were nominated for the House of Representatives and about the elected deputies is posted on the official website of the Central Election Commission, reports a BELTA correspondent. According to the CEC, more than a quarter of the parliamentarians are women (29 people, or 26.6%). As for the age of the deputies, they are all over 30 years old; none of the candidates under 30 years of age were elected to parliament. Among the 109 elected deputies, 43 are government officials, to whom voters most often gave their preference, as a result of which government officials make up almost 40% of the future parliamentarians. Employees in the fields of education, culture, science, and healthcare account for 23% of the deputies (or 25 people). In the fields of industry, transport, and construction, 12.8% of those elected to parliament are employed (or 14 people). Among the deputies, more than 7% (8 people) are law enforcement officers and military personnel. More than 3% of future parliamentarians (or 4 people) work in trade and public services, and less than 3% (3 people) are in agriculture. The remaining 11% of deputies (12 people) are employed in other fields of activity, including a sportsman, a banker, journalists, and judges. Unemployed candidates were not elected to parliament from any of the constituencies.
