The first group of children from the Vitebsk region recently departed for a health resort stay at the "Belarus" sanatorium in Druskininkai, Lithuania, after a two-year hiatus. This was reported by Snezhana Titova, head of the Vitebsk regional department of the Republican Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population.

This was reported by Snezhana Titova, head of the Vitebsk regional department of the Republican Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population.
As a reminder, the first buses with Belarusian children departed for health resorts in Lithuania in late November 2021. The resumption of admissions after a long pause, caused by the imposition of sanctions by the European Union, was preceded by joint measures taken by the Republican Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, and other interested parties.
– It is important that the barriers have finally been removed, and now 43 children from our region have the opportunity to undergo sanatorium-resort treatment at this health facility in the Baltics, thanks to state subsidies and free vouchers. "Belarus" is an important link in the domestic rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy and recovery from gastrointestinal diseases, nervous system disorders, and a number of other pathologies. The current group is primarily focused on programmes for respiratory system recovery. The children will undergo a course from December 11 to December 31, – noted Snezhana Titova.
Incidentally, previously the sanatorium in Druskininkai annually hosted between 500 and a thousand boys and girls from the Vitebsk region.
