The Vitebsk enterprise was the first in Belarus to master this type of activity, as a result of which complex agricultural machinery is effectively given a second life. This new initiative for the Vitebsk region was marked with a ceremony attended by the heads of the Committee for Agriculture and Foodstuffs, the Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products Concern State Association, and the region's agro-service enterprises.
The handover of the machinery took place at the joint-stock company's site. Upon receiving the documentation packages in an official setting, the machine operators once again felt the significance of the moment and realized the extent of their responsibility for the complex machinery entrusted to them. It is no coincidence that, in his address to the ceremony participants, Mikhail Pridybailo, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Agricultural Committee, drew the attention of the farms' engineering services to the importance of technical maintenance, urging machine operators to make high-quality service a law, so that "machines with remaining service life give their maximum during operation in the fields."
The initiative to organize the refurbishment of complex machinery subject to write-off belongs to Boris Efremov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. Funds from the regional budget were allocated to address this important task of updating the machinery fleet. According to Sergey Egorov, Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee's Committee for Agriculture and Foodstuffs, approximately 5 million rubles have been allocated for these purposes since the beginning of 2021. For comparison, Sergey Vasilievich provided the following data: purchasing the same number of new machines would have cost the farms approximately twice as much.
The benefit is obvious. Therefore, Vitebsk region enterprises are aiming to increase their capacity for refurbishment. Today, the brigades of Zapadno-Dvinny Mezhrayagrotehservis are bringing another 4 machines back to life. Furthermore, a repair program for 28 units of forage harvesting machinery alone has already been formed. In the future, the enterprise is expected to repair 5-6 harvesters per month. These are mainly KVK-800 and KVK-8060 models, which bear the main workload of fodder harvesting.
In total, since the beginning of 2021, specialized enterprises have repaired about 200 units of agricultural machinery and equipment, including mowers, fertilizer spreaders, etc. The experience and developments of the Vitebsk region in organizing the repair and restoration of agricultural machinery have been positively assessed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food during a recent republican seminar-meeting held at the OJSC "Vitebsk Motor Repair Plant".
