The Republic of Belarus Kayaking and Canoeing Championship was held in Brest. Junior athletes under twenty-three years of age from six regions of the country and the city of Minsk participated. A total of about two hundred and fifty athletes competed.

Six trainees from the Lepel Trade Union Children and Youth Sports School "Albatross" were included in the Vitebsk Region team. Ilya Polonsky and Ilya Demko, competing in single canoes over different distances, won bronze and silver medals respectively. The first athlete excelled in the thousand-meter race, the second in the two-hundred-meter sprint, and then in the four-person canoe over five hundred meters, where the combined crew won a gold medal.
Elizaveta Anoshko secured her participation in the European Championship. As part of a combined crew in a double kayak over five hundred and one thousand meters, and also in a quadruple kayak, she took first place in all events.
Elizaveta Anoshko and Ilya Demko will represent our country at international competitions in Belgrade, Serbia.
