On October 9, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The first eco-FAP (Feldshersko-Akushersky Punkt - paramedic and obstetric point) in the Vitebsk region will appear in the Lepel district, in the village of Stary Lepel, Valentin Shakura, project manager for "Construction of residential buildings in the settlement of Stary Lepel" of the international non-governmental charitable organization "EcoDom", told a BELTA correspondent. The unusual paramedic and obstetric point is being built from local environmentally friendly materials - wood, clay, wood chips, and reeds. Construction work is nearing completion: only the roof needs to be covered. Until spring, in accordance with the construction technology for such materials, the building will dry out, and with the onset of warm weather, finishing work will begin here, which is planned to be completed by August next year. Not only the FAP building itself will be eco-friendly, but also its engineering communications: a wood pellet boiler, a solar collector, and a building thermal regulation system will be used for heating and water supply. According to the project, the single-story building with an area of 156 sq.m will house patient reception rooms, a physiotherapy room, an examination room, and a procedure room. The FAP will serve about a thousand people - residents of several villages. Among them are over 200 school-aged children and over 240 elderly people. The FAP will be equipped with medical equipment by the Lepel Central District Hospital. The project is being implemented by INGO "EcoDom" in cooperation with the Lepel District Executive Committee with the support of the German organization Rotary Deutschland Gemcindienst e. V., the GEF Small Grants Programme of the UN, and the charitable organization "Houses instead of Chernobyl". Volunteers from European countries are providing assistance in its implementation. According to Valentin Shakura, the first eco-FAP in Belarus started operating in the village of Zanaroch, Myadel district, several years ago, and during this time it has confirmed its high environmental and operational characteristics.
