Pedestrians and cyclists continue to be the most vulnerable road users. Accident analysis shows an increase in the number of road traffic accidents involving the latter. There has also been an increase in injuries among people using personal mobility devices.
To eliminate the causes and conditions of road traffic injuries and to foster mutually respectful relationships between road users, from July 4 to July 14, the State Automobile Inspectorate will conduct the republican preventive campaign "Move According to the Rules!".
During this period, a large-scale preventive campaign will be organised on safe behaviour, especially at pedestrian crossings, and on explaining the requirements of the Traffic Regulations regarding cycling and the use of personal mobility devices.
Traffic police patrols will be deployed near pedestrian crossings. As part of routine traffic monitoring and during raid operations, inspectors will control compliance with the Traffic Regulations by cyclists and users of personal mobility devices, as well as by drivers regarding the provision of right of way to these categories of road users.
