This was announced today to journalists by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, after a direct telephone line with residents of the region, BELTA correspondent reports. "When forming the 2013 budget, the construction of five rental houses, approximately 500 apartments, is taken into account," said the governor. This housing will be provided to both those on the waiting list and specialists invited to work by enterprises and organizations of the regional center. Along with rental housing, an exchange housing fund will be created in Vitebsk. It is intended primarily for those whose housing is recognized as unfit for habitation and is designated for demolition. Within the next three years, 364 houses and barracks need to be demolished in the regional center, some of which still lack hot water supply. More than 30 residents of the region participated in the direct line with the governor. Their questions mainly concerned the work of housing and communal services. The issue of resettling residents from houses recognized as unfit for habitation was repeatedly raised. -0-
