Five regions of Belarus have completed the first mowing of grasses, BELTA was informed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs.

As of July 4, the first mowing has been carried out on 83.6% of the planned areas in the Vitebsk region. In the Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, and Mogilev regions, the plan for the first mowing of grasses has been fulfilled.

Grass has been harvested from 1288.5 thousand hectares, which is 98.3% of the mown area. 393.2 thousand tons of hay have been prepared (41.2% of the plan), 8197.7 thousand tons of silage (61%), and 247.5 thousand tons of haylage (1.30%).

In total, it is planned to obtain 9.6 million tons of fodder units of grass fodder this year. As of this time, 26.7% of the plan has been prepared. It is planned to prepare almost 19.8 million tons of haylage, 13.2 million tons of silage (including 1 million tons in polymer packaging), and 955.2 thousand tons of hay.
