March 16, Novopolotsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Fifteen large sacks of personal protective equipment for construction workers were discovered by border guards and police officers in the Braslav district, Denis Glebko, assistant head of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment for Media Relations, told a BELTA correspondent. During operational search activities, servicemen of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment, jointly with employees of the Braslav District Department of Internal Affairs and the Braslav District Department for Emergency Situations, discovered a batch of assorted construction clothing in a private house in one of the border villages. In total, 15 large sacks contained 15 types of clothing and protective equipment, including goggles and gloves, with a total value of Br50 million. It was found that the clothing was illegally imported into the territory of Belarus from Latvia. According to the owner of the house, the cargo was left for storage by a stranger. The seized goods have been handed over to the Braslav District Department of Internal Affairs for further investigation. An administrative process has been initiated under Article 14.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences "Illegal movement of goods across the customs border of the Republic of Belarus." -0-
