In September, the Supervision and Prevention Inspectorate of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations (ROChS), in accordance with the "Coordination Plan for Control (Supervisory) Activities for the 2nd Half of 2017 in the Vitebsk Region," completed scheduled inspections of the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 1 of Lepel" and the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 3 of Lepel."
During the inspections, it was established that the primary fire extinguishing equipment in these institutions is in good working order. Self-rescuers have been acquired for members of voluntary fire brigades and employees involved in the implementation of evacuation plans. However, at the same time, points from the previous order issued by the State Fire Supervision (GPN) employees remain unfulfilled. In Building No. 1 of the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 3 of Lepel," and in the building of the senior classes of the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 1 of Lepel," the fire alarm and people notification system is switched off. Re-treatment of the wooden roof structures has not been carried out. In Building No. 2 of the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 3 of Lepel," the building for senior and junior classes, and the sports hall, lack functional lightning protection.
At all inspected facilities, evacuation plans have been practically practiced with students, teachers, and technical staff, and tactical special exercises have been conducted with the involvement of fire and rescue units of the Lepel ROChS. Following the inspections, presentations were made to work collectives on the topic of observing fire safety rules in institutions and in everyday life. Educational institution managers were provided with consultative assistance in ensuring fire safety.
