More than 800 people have been invited to the event. Among them are not only top officials, heads of government bodies, local authorities, deputies, but, above all, employees of educational institutions from all regions of the country and the city of Minsk. In an open microphone format, they will be able to share their opinions and experiences on various issues. The event will be held in a maximally open and discussion-oriented manner.
During the plenary session of the Republican Pedagogical Council, it is planned to thoroughly discuss the ongoing transformations and trends in educational processes, ways to adapt them to the requirements of the time, and taking into account advanced national and foreign experience. The results of the development of all levels of the education system in Belarus will be assessed, and prospects for their improvement will be outlined. The role of the teacher, the principles and approaches to educating the younger generation will also be in the spotlight.
An exhibition of creative achievements of teachers, educational and methodological literature, and new technologies in education has been organised for the participants of the pedagogical council. One of the innovations is the so-called smart school bus, which, with the help of a special hardware and software complex, provides additional safety for students.

The Republican Pedagogical Council commenced yesterday with a series of thematic sections and round tables. Specialists have managed to discuss a wide range of issues, including modern approaches to improving the quality of preschool education, the contribution that vocational education can make to the innovative development of the Belarusian economy, the main directions for higher education, and the training of pedagogical staff. Among the most actively discussed proposals are the transition to universal secondary education, a reduction in university admissions coupled with an increase in admissions to secondary vocational and vocational-technical educational institutions, and the possible return of the five-point grading system. The main goal of the forum is to define the tasks for the 2017/2018 academic year and to discuss conceptual approaches to the development of the education system for the short-term (up to 2020) and long-term (up to 2030) periods.
