The seventh annual international festival "Cherry Festival" will be held in Glubokoye from July 23-27, the local district executive committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
Official delegations and creative groups from Georgia, Poland, France, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, and Moldova are expected to attend the forum.
On July 23, following the grand opening, the Day of Public Associations will commence, featuring thematic and charity events, and a concert program.
On the second day, the Sports Day with a focus on football will take place at the city stadium. Both children and adults will have the opportunity to play the world's most popular game. Among the exciting events will be a snail race and a football prediction by the snails. Additionally, a sports museum with a football-themed exhibition will open at the local Children and Youth Sports School. This exhibition will be expanded annually with other sports in the future.
All enthusiasts of quests and car shows are invited to the Youth Day on July 25. A fashion theatre will perform at 20:30, followed by the band Cherry Town on stage.
The main events are scheduled for July 26 and 27. During these days, the regional plein air of decorative painting masters "Paradise Garden - 2019" will be held, dedicated to the works of Jazep Drozdoch. Guests can expect a theatrical program, an ethno-party, a competition for bayan, accordion, and harmonica players, and the "Cherry Wedding" marriage registration. Yulia Lebedenko, a graduate of the Vienna Conservatory, will also give a concert. Following tradition, a festive procession with the participation of the "Cherry Queen" will take place from the monumental decorative sculpture "Hlybotskaya Vishnya" to the central stage.
Two conferences on horticulture and tourism will be held during the festival. Folk artists will present their crafts, and trade rows and farmsteads will be open.
The "Cherry Festival" is being held in Glubokoye for the seventh time; in 2017, it received international festival status. Last year, the "Cherry Queen's" residence was established on the shore of Lake Kagalnoye in the city center.
The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Glubokoye District Executive Committee are the organizers of the forum.
