The leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee planted about 7,000 pine seedlings in the Liozno District.

- Traditionally, we are accustomed to planting forests in the spring. This year, our President set the tone for an autumn campaign. One of the reasons is the hurricane that hit us in the summer. At that time, the epicentre of windfalls and storm felling was Gomel Region. In our region, more than a hundred hectares of forest were felled. The disaster that occurred has spurred us to pay even closer attention to forest renewal, - emphasized the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin.

The head of the region noted that although the area of restored forest is small – one hectare – thousands of trees were planted there, and they will bring joy to future generations.

- It is gratifying that no one has to be prompted to participate in the campaign; people willingly go to the forest to plant trees themselves. Such events allow the team to change their environment, work together, communicate, and become closer – to become even more cohesive, - emphasized Alexander Subbotin.

The General Director of Vitebsk State Production Forestry Association, Yuri Lipsky, reported that the employees of the Regional Executive Committee worked productively:

- These are experienced people who know how to properly establish forest cultures. Before the campaign began, we showed the results of forest restoration from last year and the year before. These include plots where the employees of the Regional Executive Committee worked.

We remind you that a republican voluntary campaign "Give the Forest New Life" has been held in the country since October 12. The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, personally launched it during a working trip to his small homeland in the Shklov District. The campaign is aimed at restoring forest areas affected by the hurricane.

By the way, anyone can join it until November 12. To contribute to the restoration of the country's forest wealth, you need to contact your local forestry enterprise.
