4 May, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Following the declaration of income for 2011, one citizen in the Vitebsk region is required to pay Br1.3 billion to the budget, which constitutes one third of the total additional payments of personal income tax by individuals who declared their income, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the press centre of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate of Belarus for the Vitebsk region.
In total, across the region, 1044 individuals submitted personal income tax calculations for 2011 to the tax inspectorates. As of 1 May of the current year, based on the results of tax recalculation, Br3.7 billion is due for additional payment. The largest sum, Br1.3 billion, has been levied on a resident of Vitebsk. The citizen declared income received from the sale of shares to a legal entity – a non-resident of Belarus. For comparison, following the income declaration campaign for 2010, over Br870 million was due for additional payment to the budget in the Vitebsk region. The largest sum that a citizen had to pay additionally last year was approximately Br80 million.
The Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate for the Vitebsk region draws attention to the fact that 15 May is the last day for payment of personal income tax calculated for individuals based on tax declarations submitted to the tax authorities. For violation of the tax payment deadline, administrative responsibility is provided for by the Code of Administrative Offences. Furthermore, a penalty is accrued for each day of delay. -0-
