The winners of the XIII National Print Media Competition "Golden Letter" will be announced today in Minsk, the Ministry of Information of Belarus informed a BELTA correspondent.
A total of 258 entries were submitted to the competition from print media, as well as individual journalists and creative workers of print media.
Entries from republican and regional print media, news agencies, and press services were submitted in the following nominations: "Best Materials on Socio-Political Topics", "Best Materials on Economic Topics", "Best Materials on Social Topics", "Best Materials on Sports and Healthy Lifestyle Topics", "Best Materials on Cultural and Historical-Local Lore Topics", "Best Internet Project".
For district, city, and mass-circulation print media, the following nominations were proposed: "Best Materials on Socio-Political Topics", "Best Materials on Socio-Economic Topics", "Best Materials on Sports and Healthy Lifestyle Topics", "Best Materials on Cultural and Historical-Local Lore Topics", "Best Internet Project".
In addition, four general nominations have been announced for representatives of all media: "Best Materials on Youth, Children's and Youth Topics", "Best Materials for Leisure", "Best Materials on Popular Science Topics", "Debut".
In the group of personal nominations, the following will be announced: "Best Reporter of Republican and Regional Print Media, News Agencies", "Best Reporter of District, City, Mass-Circulation Print Media", "Best Columnist", "Best Photojournalist of Republican and Regional Print Media, News Agencies", "Best Photojournalist of District, City, Mass-Circulation Print Media", "Best Author's Column, Blog of Print Media, News Agencies".
The competition will announce the recipients of two Grand Prix awards – for the best creative project of the year for district, city, and mass-circulation print media, and for the best creative project of the year for republican and regional print media, and news agencies.
The winners of the competition in each nomination will be awarded diplomas and commemorative signs-symbols "Golden Letter".
The main objectives of the competition are to comprehensively promote the development of print media and information agencies of the country, to highlight significant thematic areas of print media activities in implementing state information policy, to enhance the professional and ideological content level of print media, to stimulate the creative activities of journalists and other creative workers involved in the production of print media, as well as press secretaries and employees of press services of government bodies and organizations.
The organizer of the competition is the Ministry of Information of Belarus. The instructions for participating in the XIII National Competition of Print Media "Golden Letter" are posted on the official website of the department.
