Winners of the third stage of the Republican Olympiad

Traditionally, the winners of the third stage of the Republican Olympiad were honoured in the small hall of the district executive committee. This time, five high school students from our district became among the best in the region in specific academic subjects. Teachers and parents came to support their students.

The Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Viktor Azarenok, addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech. He noted that the occasion for the meeting was very pleasant and joyful. The achievements presented are the result of many days, and in some cases, many years of work by educators and their best students. This year, the district council of deputies joined the permanent social partners, preparing certificates for the teachers. However, first, the Olympiad heroes received monetary rewards.
The first to be called is Ivan Murzin, an eleventh-grade student of Borovskaya Secondary School (second-degree diploma in History). Great hopes are placed on this young man, as he is the only one who will demonstrate his knowledge at the republican level. Next are the eleventh-grade student Victoria Shabunya and ninth-grade student Valentina Grinkevich from Secondary School No. 1 (third-degree diplomas in Biology). Anna Gonchar and Alina Klavovich from the I.M. Erashov Gymnasium were also awarded third-degree diplomas in Mathematics and English, respectively.

The students' victory is also the victory of the teachers who prepared them, so special words of gratitude are addressed to the teachers present in the hall, especially to Elena Silvanovich, who has been preparing Olympiad participants in Biology for several years, and this year, two of them.

For monetary rewards from the District Executive Committee and Certificates of Honour from the District Council of Deputies "For professional excellence and preparation of winners of the third stage of the Republican Olympiad in academic subjects in 2016/2017, personal contribution to the development of the district's education system," the teachers come out in the same order as their students. First, Evgenia Eritcyan is awarded, followed by Elena Silvanovich, Svetlana Sitchenko, and Elena Zinkevich.

The Lepel District organisation of the Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus", represented by Vera Zakrevskaya, joins in congratulating the winners. The chairperson of the organisation is convinced that the most reliable investment by parents and the state is in children. And there is a special hope placed on our Olympiad participants.

Another pleasant surprise, exclusively for the educators, was the decision announced by Viktor Azarenok – to award each of them a bonus of up to five hundred roubles by the end of the year.

Tatyana and Ruslan Murzin are proud of their son. They are accustomed to his regular participation in Olympiads and his honourable places. His mother, a paediatrician, honestly admits that the news did not come as a surprise to her; she believed in and expected such a result. And there are serious grounds for this. Vanya has been reading since the age of four, has been successfully participating in intellectual competitions since the seventh grade, grasps information quickly, and acquires encyclopaedias and other literature – he has a whole mini-library at home. His father, the head of the territorial group of the district military commissariat, claims that the child's abilities come from his mother. I shift my gaze to the Olympiad participant – and his bearing is certainly from his father.
