1 August, Lepel /Own correspondent/ The republican Spartakiad in kayaking and canoeing was held in Zaslavl.
The Lepel Children and Youth Sports School "Albatros" took fifth place overall out of thirty schools.
The competitions lasted for three days, with a different distance for each day. Races were held over 1000m, 500m, and 200m. The canoe four, consisting of Ilya Palonsky, Dan Kharkevich, Vladislav Leonov, and Alexander Gintoft, finished third in the long-distance race. A. Gintoft also competed in a solo canoe, adding a bronze medal to the tally. Anastasia Lavrinova and Ekaterina Levitskaya won silver in a double kayak sprint over 200m. Alexander Gintoft distinguished himself again over the same distance, taking first place.
