Almost 55.3 thousand schoolchildren received health improvement services in the children's camps of the Vitebsk region during the summer season, the head of the representative office "Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population" Elena Andreykova informed a BELTA correspondent. This summer, a total of 35 stationary camps with round-the-clock stays for children, 13 camps on leased premises, 119 specialized camps with nine-day stays, and 630 day camps operated in the region. 521 children with disabilities, about 1.3 thousand orphans, 1.8 thousand children under guardianship and with psychophysical development peculiarities, and almost 9 thousand children from large and low-income families rested and improved their health in the camps. 1.8 thousand children registered at the school level, about 800 registered with juvenile inspection commissions, and 2.3 thousand children in a particularly vulnerable situation received health improvement services in camps based at units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and military units. The health improvement campaign in the region proceeded smoothly, without cases of epidemiological situation complications or group cases of acute intestinal disorders. The effectiveness of health improvement with a pronounced effect was 83.7%, with a weak effect - 15%, and with no effect - 1.2%. Currently, the region is summing up the results of the work of each health improvement camp to select the best one. Preparations for the next health improvement season have also practically begun, Elena Andreykova added. -0-
