On October 17, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. This summer, almost 57 thousand children and adolescents were able to rest and improve their health in the health resorts of the Vitebsk region. This was announced today at a press conference by Vladimir Sinkevich, Chief Physician of the Vitebsk Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
In total, 761 health resorts operated in the region during the summer, including 139 with round-the-clock stays. According to the results of the summer season, during medical examinations, it was found that 84.2% of children (out of those examined) had a pronounced health improvement effect (in 2010 - 83.2%). 14.7% of children received a weak health improvement effect (15.5% respectively).
The summer health campaign in the region passed successfully, without any incidents. Significant attention was paid to the condition and functioning of the camps. Thus, violations of sanitary norms, rules and hygienic standards were detected in 197 (25.9%) camps, including 49 (35.2%) with round-the-clock stays. For the identified violations, 214 guilty and responsible persons were brought to administrative responsibility, including 92 camp directors and 6 owners of health resorts.
With the end of the health campaign, work began on preparing a plan of measures for the 2012 health season, and instructions for camp owners are being developed, Vladimir Sinkevich added. He noted that the number of stationary suburban camps (there are currently 35 in the region) is not planned to be reduced. "Despite the fact that some of them require the closest attention due to their condition, all efforts will be made to preserve them and ensure their further operation," said the chief physician. -0-
