Almost half of the monthly precipitation norm fell on the afternoon of July 23 in Sharkovshchina (Vitebsk region) and Naroch (Myadel district, Minsk region), the Republican Centre for Hydrometeorology, Radioactive Contamination Monitoring and Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection informed a BELTA correspondent.

"The highest amount of precipitation fell on the afternoon of July 23 in Sharkovshchina and Naroch – 34 mm each. This is almost half of the monthly norm," Belhydromet stated.

Today, Belarus will be cloudy with clear spells. Short-term rains and thunderstorms are expected over most of the territory, with heavy downpours in some places. The wind is forecast to be moderate north-easterly, with squally gusts up to strong in some places during thunderstorms. The air temperature will be 22-28 degrees Celsius.

Unstable weather will persist this week, with temperatures 3-5 degrees above the climatic norm. It will remain warm, with thunderstorms and rain expected.
