From September 23, the supply of heat to social facilities will commence in the Vitebsk region. This decision was made by the regional executive committee, as reported to a BELTA correspondent by Dmitry Gerasimov, First Deputy Head of the Main Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Regional Executive Committee.

First and foremost, heat should be supplied to healthcare institutions, social security facilities, schools, preschool institutions, as well as museums, state archives, and libraries. The decision of the regional executive committee has been dispatched to the local authorities. Nevertheless, each district will independently decide on the activation of heating based on weather conditions.

The activation of heating in residential buildings is not yet planned. Heat is supplied to apartments when the average daily temperature falls below 8 degrees Celsius for five consecutive days.

During the current inter-seasonal period, 519 boiler houses will be operational in the Vitebsk region. All heat sources, as well as residential facilities, have already received their readiness certificates. During the preparations for winter, dispatch services and emergency crews have been fully staffed with equipment and personnel.
