On January 1, near the village of Zamostochye, Dokshitsy district, a Skoda Rapid and a Mercedes minibus collided. As a result of the accident, the driver, born in 1981, who was driving the Skoda, and a passenger born in 1984, were injured. Two children, born in 2010 and 2013, who were in the car, died at the scene.
On the night of May 6, near the village of Ropno, a 21-year-old Volkswagen driver lost control on a road bend. The car went into a ditch and overturned. A 16-year-old girl was injured.
Around 1 AM on August 6, near the village of Khlusovo, Orsha district, a 35-year-old driver of an Iveco minibus hit a tractor that was parked in the right lane due to technical malfunctions. An emergency stop sign was placed near the vehicle, and its hazard lights were on. As a result of the collision, the driver and 5 passengers of the minibus, aged between 14 and 18, were injured. One of them, a 16-year-old young man, died.

On August 30, the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Vitebsk region is conducting a comprehensive preventive event titled "Gave Life? Now Save It!". The main goal of the event will be to prevent road traffic accidents involving child passengers.

Traffic police inspectors will strengthen control over compliance with traffic regulations regarding the transportation of children in cars. Meetings on the theme of the preventive event will be held in educational institutions and work collectives in the Vitebsk region.
