The gala concert marking the solemn closing of the XXVIII International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" was held in Vitebsk, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The touching farewell of artists and spectators to the festival was filled with anticipation of a new meeting in 2020, when friends can be seen again and one can immerse oneself in the unique atmosphere that prevails in Vitebsk every July. In the meantime, the official conclusion of matters: the award ceremony for the Grand Prix winner of the international competition of pop singers "Vitebsk-2019" with the coveted "Lyra" statuette. This year, the winner was Adilkhan Makin from Kazakhstan, who captured the hearts of the international jury with his masterful performance and powerful vocals. The special prize of the President of Belarus "Slavic Hope" was also traditionally awarded at the festival closing. For the best embodiment of the Slavic theme in his works, Adilkhan Makin was also honored with it this year.
Both very young artists and established, titled stars took to the stage. Many performed in stunning duets. For example, Soso Pavliashvili performed the song "Heart in the Palm" with Inna Afanasyeva. Tamara Gverdtsiteli and Gleb Matveychuk captivated the audience with the hit "Promise Me Love". One of the most vivid impressions of the concert was left by the ballad Hijo de la luna performed by Ksenia Dezhneva and Igor Tsvirko, a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre. Olga Buzova, SHANGUY, and Alekseev delighted the youth that evening. Performers from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Italy, Moldova, and other countries succeeded one another. Songs about friendship, love, and family values touched everyone in the hall.
People's Artist of the USSR Sofia Rotaru was glad to be at "Slavianski Bazaar" again. On this amazing evening, she gave the festival the best gift an artist can offer: the singer presented the forum with the song "Music of My Love". Thunderous applause and long queues of fans confirmed the unwavering affection of the Vitebsk public for her. Another surprise, this time from the organizers and all the artists, was a song dedicated to "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," which can rightly be called the anthem of the forum. The rhythmic composition about the festival, performed at the finale, carries the idea of unity of all Slavic peoples – this concert was a true celebration of music and friendship.
