The details of the contract are being clarified. As previously reported by First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko, the document being prepared for signing did not fundamentally differ from the current one. "We have not departed from the fundamental pricing formula that was in place. Due to the depreciation of the Russian ruble, the price of gas for us will decrease slightly from January 1. Today it is around $168 per 1,000 cubic meters, and it will be around $154-155," the First Deputy Prime Minister explained at the time.

Speaking about the supply volumes, Vladimir Semashko noted that Belarus will receive natural gas to meet its full needs. "At the level of 22 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Sometimes we do not utilise these volumes; the contract allows for a plus 5% and minus 10% deviation," he said.

The current three-year contract for the supply of natural gas to Belarus by Gazprom expires on December 31, 2014.

It is possible that the parties have also signed a contract for gas transportation through the territory of Belarus for the upcoming three years.
