On July 9, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. An illegal cash poker club has been shut down in Vitebsk, Roman Chudakov, Head of the Department for Supervision of Criminal Case Investigations by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk Region Prosecutor's Office, told a BELTA correspondent. Two unemployed residents of the regional center, born in 1984 and 1982, with experience in this entertainment sphere, rented premises in the city, equipped them, hired service personnel, and held money poker games. They quickly built up a client network through acquaintances, gambling addicts, and the Internet. From April to June, the illegal activity brought them an income of over Br100 million. A criminal case has been initiated against the Vitebsk residents for illegal entrepreneurial activity as part of an organized criminal group under Part 3 of Article 233 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, which provides for up to seven years of imprisonment with possible confiscation of property. -0-
