The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations hosted a review of the work of the Vitebsk regional public organization OSVOD, and also identified priority areas for the upcoming year.

The review of work results of the Vitebsk regional public organization OSVOD took place at the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and priority areas for the future year were also determined. The review was attended by the Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Sergey Meshkin, Chairman of the Republican State-Public Association "Belarusian Republican Society for Rescue on Waters" Andrey Chernyavsky, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization OSVOD Alexander Myasoedov, Head of the regional structure of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels Alexander Yarmosh, as well as heads of rescue stations in the Vitebsk region.

Andrey Chernyavsky reviewed the results of work concerning the organization and implementation of preventive measures to prevent deaths on water bodies in the region, and also addressed issues related to the organization of duty shifts at rescue stations and posts, their provision with rescue equipment, and staffing.

The Head of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Sergey Meshkin outlined the main shortcomings in the organization of OSVOD units' activities, and also announced state-significant tasks facing OSVOD and the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the sphere of preventing deaths on water. Based on the results of the work in 2023, he awarded individual OSVOD employees for high achievements in preventing deaths on water.

During the meeting, issues of interaction between OSVOD and the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations units were considered regarding the implementation of preventive work, methodological assistance in conducting raid activities, as well as interaction with local authorities.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization OSVOD Alexander Myasoedov assessed the work of each chairman and instructed to strengthen preventive work with the population, work collectives, and educational institutions.
