There are days whose significance time cannot diminish. There are events that remain in human memory forever. 75 years ago, the long-awaited word "Victory!" sounded over a world ravaged by war.

 In our district, places of military valor are maintained in proper condition. This is not an action for a memorable date, but systematic and planned work. Thus, this year, on the eve of the Victory Day celebration, a monument was unveiled after repairs at the military cemetery of the military hospital in the town of Lepel. This is done to honor the memory of the fallen and to ensure that the living do not forget. The Great Victory will forever remain a heroic peak in the history of our country.

The solemn rally dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War was attended by Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies; Yuri Derkach, Deputy of the Regional Council of Deputies for the Lepel Electoral District, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the seventh convocation from the Vitebsk region; Ruslan Shkodin, Colonel, Military Commissar of the Vitebsk region, Deputy for the Borovskoye Electoral District No. 13 of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies; as well as representatives of the district authorities, led by Mikhail Kiselevich, Chairman of the District Executive Committee.

Vladimir Terentyev addressed the attendees, recalling the feat of our heroic people and the tragedy of those distant events. Vladimir Vladimirovich expressed gratitude to the 52nd Separate Specialized Search Battalion for the work they have been carrying out for decades, as well as to the district executive committee and the council of deputies. In addition, he awarded Valery Tukhto, a history teacher at the State Educational Institution "Slobodskaya Nursery-Garden Secondary School of the Lepel District," with an Honorary Certificate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee for his active participation in the public life of the Lepel District and his significant personal contribution to public patriotic and search work in the Lepel District.
