75 years ago, the long-awaited word "Victory!" sounded over a world ravaged by
war.
In our district, places of military valor are maintained in proper condition. This is not an action for a memorable date, but systematic and planned work. Thus, this year, on the eve of the Victory Day celebration, a monument was unveiled after repairs at the military cemetery of the military hospital in the town of Lepel. This is done to honor the memory of the fallen and to ensure that the living do not forget. The Great Victory will forever remain a heroic peak in the history of our country.
The solemn rally dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War was attended by Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies; Yuri Derkach, Deputy of the Regional Council of Deputies for the Lepel Electoral District, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the seventh convocation from the Vitebsk region; Ruslan Shkodin, Colonel, Military Commissar of the Vitebsk region, Deputy for the Borovskoye Electoral District No. 13 of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies; as well as representatives of the district authorities, led by Mikhail Kiselevich, Chairman of the District Executive Committee.
Vladimir Terentyev addressed the attendees, recalling the feat of our heroic people and the tragedy of those distant events. Vladimir Vladimirovich expressed gratitude to the 52nd Separate Specialized Search Battalion for the work they have been carrying out for decades, as well as to the district executive committee and the council of deputies. In addition, he awarded Valery Tukhto, a history teacher at the State Educational Institution "Slobodskaya Nursery-Garden Secondary School of the Lepel District," with an Honorary Certificate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee for his active participation in the public life of the Lepel District and his significant personal contribution to public patriotic and search work in the Lepel District.

for generations, peace for us is the greatest value," noted Mikhail Kiselevich in his speech. "The perpetuation of the memory of the fallen continues today. For several years now, a search battalion has been operating in the district, and active research work is being carried out."
The remains of 110 people who died during the war have been reburied in the territory of this military cemetery in the last 16 years alone. Currently, about two hundred people are buried here. In total, there are over 50 military burials in the district, including about 30 mass graves.
Unfortunately, the number of victorious participants in this sacred war is decreasing every year. Respect for veterans is also respect for the memory of people who are no longer with us, who died on the battlefield during the fight against Nazism, who died of wounds after the Great Patriotic War, and who passed away in our time.
Almost every family in Lepel region cherishes its own war-related story, remembers and honours its heroic relatives. We, living under a peaceful sky, are united by deep feelings for our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers.
Millions of family stories are woven into the history of the Fatherland – a difficult, heroic, and great one. As long as we preserve this memory, as long as we know and thank the war veterans for their courage, our country and the whole world will also remember it.
Mikhail Leonidovich congratulated everyone on Victory Day, wished them health, optimism, well-being, and a peaceful sky over their native Belarus.
At the solemn rally, a minute of silence was observed in memory of known and unknown soldiers, partisans and underground fighters, home front workers, concentration camp prisoners, civilians – all whose lives were taken by the war, as well as veterans of the Great Patriotic War who passed away in peacetime!
After that, wreaths were laid at the renovated monument to a soldier from the Great Patriotic War era.

The 75th anniversary of the Great Victory is a wonderful occasion for gifts and pleasant surprises. And they are not long in coming: the city is growing, developing, and improving.
A healthy lifestyle is gaining increasing popularity among the residents of Lepel. And this is not just a tribute to fashion, but our realisation of the need to take care of our health and engage in sports.
Thanks to the funding from the association "Belarusian Football Federation" and the Lepel District Executive Committee, represented by Chairman Mikhail Leonidovich Kiselevich, our city received a mini-football field as a gift. It is aimed at creating the necessary
infrastructure for the popularization and development of children's sports in the Lepel district.
The field size is 20 by 40 meters, with an artificial anti-slip surface, markings, goals, and high fencing – a modern sports ground has been established on the territory of two educational institutions and fits perfectly into the infrastructure of our city. This is an absolutely European standard.
