14 August, Lepel /Own correspondent/ The yield of grain crops largely depends on weather conditions, which have been mainly favourable this year. The observed winter rye "Zarnitsa" and spring barley "Yakub" were in good condition. Only on July 1, due to a squally wind with gusts of 18 m/s and a downpour that brought 12 mm of precipitation in 20 minutes, lodging of medium severity was noted on 20% of the winter rye field area. Another downpour on July 18 (14 mm in 2 hours) increased the lodging area to 50%. Overall, the prospects for the harvest are good.

Analysis of the crop structure showed that 869 g of grain, adjusted to standard moisture content, was obtained per square metre from 499 productive winter rye stalks 150 centimetres high.

The productivity of the ear, consisting on average of 46 grains, was 1.74 g, and the mass of 1000 grains was 37.4 g. 130 grains out of 1000 (13%) were shrivelled. The actual moisture content of the grain at the time of analysis was 32.8%. Full grain maturity was noted on July 31. On August 2, the winter rye was harvested with an actual grain moisture content of 14%. The grain yield was 42 centners per hectare.

For barley, according to the conducted analysis of the crop structure, 713 productive stalks per square metre yielded 524 g of grain of standard moisture content. The productivity of the ear was 0.73 g, and the mass of 1000 grains was 42.1 g. The calculated number of grains was 17, the actual number was 19. Out of 1000 grains, 30 were shrivelled (3%). The actual grain moisture content on the day of analysis was 32.7%, and is currently 14.5%.

The grain is fully ripe. Plant height is 68 cm. The crops are not lodged.
