On November 30, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Belarusian border guards and customs officers discovered secret compartments with cigarettes in two carriages of the "Minsk-Riga" passenger train, the head of the press service of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment, Denis Glebko, informed a BELTA correspondent. The attempt to smuggle the illegal goods failed at the Bigosovo border station. During the inspection of the inter-ceiling space in one of the compartments, "Minsk" cigarettes were found in the amount of 940 packs with Belarusian excise stamps. Some time later, in the adjacent carriage, in a locker, border committee and customs officers found another 310 packs of "Winston" cigarettes. The owners of the goods never appeared, although the first discovered batch is estimated at Br2.6 million, and the second at Br1.7 million. The illegally transported cigarettes have been seized. -0-
