President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has set a number of tasks for the new Vice Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchyk to address problematic issues in the areas under his supervision. This became known following a meeting held at the Palace of Independence.
"The President first congratulated him on his birthday, and then gave relevant instructions for the development of our industry," the Vice Prime Minister told reporters.
According to him, the main task to be solved is to prevent a decrease in production volumes, ensure export growth, and prevent an increase in warehouse stocks. "While there are no such issues today in the Ministry of Industry, there is positive dynamics and results, then in certain sectors - 'Białlegprom', 'Belneftekhim' - (It is necessary. - BELTA note) to delve as deeply as possible, find all the reasons and try to significantly influence them for positive dynamics," noted Piotr Parkhomchyk.
He also said that, traditionally, the Head of State focused on import substitution issues. This concerns specific projects. For example, the work of the Miory Metal Rolling Plant, which the Head of State recently visited. "There is confidence that the actions taken are already yielding positive results. For this month, we will produce and sell about 6 thousand tons of tinplate. This is a very good result. And most importantly, there are orders for tinplate for the coming months," said the Vice Prime Minister.
