The unusual competition will take place on Freedom Square at 4:00 PM. A jury led by Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden), along with citizens and guests of Polotsk, will select the most creative snowman, the giant snowman, and the dwarf snowman. They will also name the winners of the giant Christmas tree ornament competition, which is held in three categories: "Symbol of 2019," "Traditional Ornament," and "Creative Christmas Tree Ornament." The organisers have not imposed any restrictions on the materials or the creative vision of the participants. The main condition is that the height of the work must be at least 1.5 meters. It is already known that the Polotsk Dairy Plant, military unit 55719, the district cultural centre, educational institutions, and other enterprises and organisations of the district are preparing their entries for the competition.
The district executive committee is confident that spectators will also enjoy the results of the "New Year for Our Beloved City!" photo zone competition. Colourful, themed photo zones will be presented on Freedom Square on this day, and the performances of fairy-tale characters will bring a real celebration to the residents and guests of the city.
The winners of the creative competitions will be awarded prizes and diplomas. The Polotsk District Executive Committee is the organiser of the competitions.
